New York Timesのニュースサイトに3月28日付けで掲載されたニュースによると、2007年に中国の全国人民代表大会の常務委員会で可決され、2008年8月 1日に施行される「中華人民共和国独占禁止法」が、米MicrosoftのYahoo!買収に影響を与える可能性があるという。この法律では、中国企業に 投資している国内外の企業が買収対象となるような場合、中国の監査機関は海外の企業合併についても調査を行うことができる。
こうした報道がなされるのは、米Yahoo!を大株主に持つ中国企業のアリババの存在が大きい。大株主であるYahoo!が買収されれば、同社は大きな影響を受けることになる。
また、中国の総合情報サイトである「中国情報局」では、中国初となるオンライン取引に関連する法規「オンラインビジネスデータ保護法」が6月に交付される見通しになったことを報じている。発展する中国経済のあとを追うように、法制度も激しく変化している。
