北九州市消防局は２０日、７月から海外の消防職員対象に行ってきた「ＪＩＣＡ研修」の成果を披露する総合訓練を、訓練研修センター（小倉北区東港１丁目）で実施した。
ＪＩＣＡ研修は、総務省消防庁、国際協力機構（ＪＩＣＡ）が連携して始めた集団研修で２１回目。日本の優れた消防技術を伝達して、自国の消防技術向上に役立ててもらうとともに、消防に関する国際交流を深めることが目的だ。
研修にはアジア、中南米などから６カ国１０人の外国人消防士が参加。今回の訓練は、地震により、中高層建物に火災が発生したことを想定。研修生が大隊長や中隊長の指揮者となり、市消防局職員２０人と協力して消火や人命救助にあたった。
ブラジル軍消防局から参加したヒカルド・デソウザさん（３８）は「日本の消防士から消防に対する情熱、精神、技術を学んだ。部下や同僚に伝えていきたい」と３カ月間の研修の感想を語った。
